Josh and Demula were outstanding. They worked quick and did the job right away. They were courteous, professional, and polite while still quick and effective.
We had another company (superior plumbing) come and didn't do any work but quotes 3x more and had continuous issues with. Yet this team came out right away and had everything completed same day no problem.
This team deserves a raise for sure!
Thanks again! Basement toilet backing up: Will and his Team Mate came to the house during the time they were scheduled. I had asked Will to first use the video scope to see where the clog was, and the condition of the drain pipe. He found the clog, and now I better understand this old house and the condition of the drains. Will also removed the blockage. Quick Work & Great Service! Thanks! Great experience with this company!
I was able to get a same day appointment!
The technician, Damola, arrived earlier than expected, which was great!
He was friendly, knowledgeable and did a good job quickly and efficiently.
He was friendly, professional and explained everything thoroughly.
I whole heartedly recommend! Will came after hours to our basement apartment because a water line burst leading to a large amount of water into our bedroom though the wall. He arrived quickly and with a smile on. He got the job done quickly as well, and kept us informed of what he was doing along the way. Super nice guy, would def recommend! We had a late night catastrophic water damage from a blown pipe that was deemed okay by Reliance Home Comfort🤥🤦. Thank God for Will.🧑🔧 He came by at 10:00 in the evening to fix the blown pipe that the other company didn't. 💧💧💦🏊
If we had Will 🧑🔧The first time, we would have had somebody competent troubleshooting our plumbing issue and listening to the client rather than a technician who just wants to move to the next job like we experienced with Reliance Home Comfort.🤥👎
Will is the best! 🧑🔧👍I hope we never have to see a plumber again but if we do, it has to be Will and Mr.Rooter Team!🧑🔧🧑🔧
Thanks again Will.💯

FAQs About Replacing Kitec Plumbing
What is Kitec plumbing?
Kitec plumbing is a piping system used in many homes between 1995 and 2007. It features flexible plastic tubing with an aluminum core, typically orange for hot water and blue for cold.
Although marketed as an affordable, corrosion resistant alternative to copper, Kitec has proven unreliable. Its brass fittings can corrode when exposed to hot water, causing leaks and system failure. The pipes can also develop mineral buildup that restricts flow and increases pressure on weakened joints.
Following widespread issues and a class action lawsuit in 2005, Kitec was removed from the market by 2007. Many homes in Windsor still contain this material, and full replacement is strongly recommended.
What are the signs it is time to replace Kitec plumbing?
Even without active leaks, the following warning signs indicate potential failure:
- Orange or blue pipes labeled “Kitec,” “KTC,” “IPEX,” or “AQUA”
- Corrosion or white buildup around brass fittings
- Reduced water pressure in part or all of the home
- Yellowish water or dark sediment in tap water
- Small pinhole leaks in pipes or fittings
- Whistling or banging noises when water is running
- Water temperature fluctuations
- Water meter movement when no fixtures are in use
- Moisture stains, dampness, or mould near plumbing areas
- Homes built or renovated between 1995 and 2007
- Insurance coverage concerns related to Kitec
Even if no visible symptoms are present, the presence of Kitec plumbing alone warrants inspection and replacement planning.
How long does Kitec replacement take?
For most homes between 1,500 and 2,000 square feet, a full Kitec replacement can typically be completed within 2 to 3 days. This includes removal, installation of new PEX or copper piping, system testing, and light restoration work.
Larger or more complex homes may require 3 to 5 days to complete the full process.
